Forthcoming Events
We normally have lots of events coming up at The Dales, and we have listed below the main ones planned for the coming months. Please pop back to this page from time to time to find out all that is going on, and for the most up to date information.
In 2006 we hosted an exhibition at the Dales entitled "Ellenborough Past, Present and Future" which was followed last year with the "Ellenborough Family Tree" project, which was a great success. This year we are hoping to work closely with many of the local schools to enable us to host an event on Friday 6th, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of November entitled 'Bridging the Generations', the idea being to highlight the Local, National and Global changes that took place during each decade of the twentieth century as witnessed by many of the people living in The Dales, and compare and contrast this with the lives and aspirations of the children from the local schools who along with a band of dedicated volunteers are helping to put this years exhibition together.
For several years we have held a Carol service on the last Wednesday before Christmas, and I am pleased to announce that this years event will take place on Wednesday December 16th 2009. I have been reliably informed that the Bishop of Carlisle will be in attendance at this years service, which will commence at 6.30pm. Our poetry workshop is currently working on a calendar and it is hoped that these will be available for sale on the evening.
